Alps Electric
Alps Electric Co., Ltd. is a Japanese-based corporation focused primarily on the manufacturing of electronics. The company was responsible for the manufacturer of a large number of key switches and keyboards, primarily between the 1970s and 1990s, some of which include the SKCC series, SKCL/SKCM series, SKCP series and SKFL series. Manufacture of mechanical keyswitches ceased sometime in the late 1990s, presumably due to a lack of interest in mechanical keyswitches in keyboards.

Gold Star Alps Electronics Co., Ltd. was a Korean joint venture company related to Alps Electric. Not much is known about the company, but they are responsible for the manufacture of some switches, including Alps SKCL brown.
